A small deciduous tree that provides beauty all year. Clusters of crepe papery flower clusters are produced in the summer. Flower colors range from white, pink, red and salmon, to lavender. The bark of the crepe myrtle is quite attractive. A cold autumn produces leaves of orange and yellow fall color. Winter can show off a beautiful branch structure. Spring displays bright green foliage. This species is commonly sold as either a multi-trunk specimen or single-trunk. There are many varieties from which to choose. Powdery mildew can be a problem, but not if we have our typical hot, dry weather in which this tree thrives.
